Fiat and stablecoins, one set of rails.

US dollars in by ACH, wire, RTP and SWIFT and out by ACH, wire and SWIFT, plus stablecoins on the networks your counterparties use. See what each rail does in Mezzanine, and which account does it.

What can you do on each rail?

Not every rail runs both ways. Pick one to see what comes in, what goes out, what converts, and which of your accounts handles it.

Universal Accounts

Banking Rails

US dollars, in and out of your Universal Account, with your own bank connected beside it.

Dollars in by four rails, out by three.

A Universal Account has its own account and routing number, so US payers pay it by ACH, Fedwire or RTP, and payers abroad by SWIFT. It pays out by ACH, wire or SWIFT. Your own bank, connected, sits beside it.

  • Account and routing details

The Universal Account's own account and routing number, on payment instructions you can hand to anyone who pays you.

  • Out by ACH and wire

Pay any US bank from the Universal Account, by ACH or a domestic wire. RTP is inbound only.

  • Your own bank, connected

Connect your US bank through Plaid to see its balances and receive into it. Sending stays in your bank's own portal. A Bank Account Upgrade lets it accept stablecoins.

  • One approval flow

Bank payments go through the same approval rules and audit trail as your onchain ones.

US dollars over SWIFT.

Bank payments outside the US go in US dollars, over SWIFT, in and out of your Universal Account. There are no local-currency rails and no multi-currency balances.

  • Paid from abroad

Payers outside the US send US dollars by SWIFT to the SWIFT/BIC on your payment instructions.

  • Pay a bank abroad

Send US dollars by SWIFT from the Universal Account. Never another currency.

  • Or skip the wire

Counterparties abroad can pay you, or be paid, in stablecoins on a supported network, and you convert to dollars when you need them.

Based outside the US? Non-US companies

Crypto Rails

Six networks where your Safes run, four of them in your Universal Account too, and two more accepted and converted on the way in. Payments you send from Mezzanine are checked against the OFAC sanctions list, and an address on it is blocked.

Ethereum

Where the most value settles.

The base layer most stablecoin value and tokenized assets settle on, with the deepest market infrastructure around it. Base, Arbitrum and Optimism post their state back to it.

  • Safes

Create a Safe on Ethereum, or bring the Safes you already run. Your own signers sign.

  • Universal Account

Receive and send stablecoins on Ethereum from your Universal Account, and turn them into US dollars. Payment requests can be paid here too.

  • Bank details on a Safe

A Safe on Ethereum can have its own bank details, so a bank transfer arrives in it as USDC.

Base

Built around stablecoin payments.

Coinbase's network, on the OP Stack, with low fees and a payments focus that has made it a common home for USDC.

  • Safes

Create a Safe on Base, or bring the Safes you already run. Your own signers sign.

  • Universal Account

Receive and send stablecoins on Base from your Universal Account, and turn them into US dollars. Payment requests can be paid here too.

Arbitrum

Deep liquidity, settled to Ethereum.

Arbitrum One is one of the largest Ethereum rollups by onchain liquidity, and its stack also runs chains that firms operate for themselves.

  • Safes

Create a Safe on Arbitrum, or bring the Safes you already run. Your own signers sign.

  • Universal Account

Receive and send stablecoins on Arbitrum from your Universal Account, and turn them into US dollars. Payment requests can be paid here too.

Optimism

The original OP Stack chain.

OP Mainnet is the first network built on the OP Stack, the same stack Base and a growing group of other chains run.

  • Safes

Create a Safe on Optimism, or bring the Safes you already run. Your own signers sign.

  • No Universal Account route

Optimism isn't a Universal Account network, so there is no conversion to US dollars here, and Safes on it don't get bank details.

  • Get paid here

A payment request can be paid on Optimism, landing in a Safe.

Avalanche

Fast finality, built for institutions.

Avalanche C-Chain finalizes quickly, and its tooling lets institutions run their own chains with their own rules.

  • Safes

Create a Safe on Avalanche, or bring the Safes you already run. Your own signers sign.

  • Universal Account

Receive and send stablecoins on Avalanche from your Universal Account, and turn them into US dollars. Payment requests can be paid here too.

  • Bank details on a Safe

A Safe on Avalanche can have its own bank details, so a bank transfer arrives in it as USDC.

Hyperliquid

An exchange that is also a chain.

Hyperliquid runs an onchain order book for spot and perpetual markets, with HyperEVM beside it for ordinary contracts.

  • Safes

Create a Safe on HyperEVM, or bring the Safes you already run. Your own signers sign.

  • No Universal Account route

Hyperliquid isn't a Universal Account network, so there is no conversion to US dollars here, and Safes on it don't get bank details.

  • Get paid here

A payment request can be paid on Hyperliquid, landing in a Safe.

Accepted on Solana and Tron.

Receive only. There are no Safes on these networks, and nothing is sent from Mezzanine on them.

  • Solana

Stablecoins sent to your Universal Account on Solana are accepted and converted on the way in. A connected bank with a Bank Account Upgrade can take them too.

  • Tron

Stablecoins sent to your Universal Account on Tron are accepted and converted on the way in. A connected bank with a Bank Account Upgrade can take them too.

Bank Account Upgrades Get paid on any of these networks
